Join park staff and volunteers and make treasures out of yesterday’s trash.

Paper making, zipper art, card boxes, mandala shell art and more.

The Life of a Soldier and His Spouse in the mid 1830’s

Join us for a living-history program brought to us by living historians Stephen Dennis and Paulette Boyette as they show us an inside view of what daily life was like for a private soldier and his wife.

We will hear and see about what a soldier carried on his march and his daily rations and learn about what wives did that were in nearby forts.

Wild foods abound in the park, waiting for educated visitors to sample with expert park staff and volunteers as their guides.

We will cook up some wild jelly and make curd or pickles from harvested fruit as available.

Get WILD with your students at Dade Battlefield Historic State Park each month in an immersive educational experience utilizing both indoor and outdoor activities teaching nature’s mysteries in a fun and engaging way! 

Each month we will use curricula from Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s Project and Aquatic WILD. 

Cost is free for this educational event.
