Jim Duncan has served as the Chief Executive Officer of SECO Energy since 1990. He joined SECO in 1979 as Director of Accounting and Finance and served in that position until he was promoted to CEO. Prior to SECO, Jim had an additional ten years of accounting and finance experience with a municipal electric utility in Tennessee.

Jim holds an MBA degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from East Tennessee State University.

In his capacity as CEO, Jim is also a member of the Board of Trustees of Seminole Electric Cooperative, the Florida Electric Cooperatives Association and GRESCO Utility Supply Cooperative. He also served six years on the Board of the National Rural Utility Cooperative Finance Corporation including serving as Board President.

Jim and his lovely wife Connie have been married almost 50 years and have two grown sons and three grandchildren. Jim and Connie are avid scuba divers, Gator fans, love boating and are currently learning to wake surf.

Mr. Duncan will present a brief history of Sumter Electric Cooperative, founded in 1938 and now doing business under the fresh brand of SECO Energy. He will discuss the rapid growth in the service territory, explain the not-for-profit business model and will cover a few high-level financial stats. You won’t want to miss this presentation.
