“The Rhythm of Life” kicks off the 20th season celebration for The Village Voices Chorus! Singing a variety of new and old favorites, the chorus will be under the direction of conductor Dr. John T. Lowe, Jr. with accompanist Sean Pollock. Dr. Sandra Willetts returns to conduct a special two organ accompaniment selection.
The Village Voices Chorus is a group of 130 very musical villagers, many of whom are former music educators and professionals. They rehearse every Friday morning at North Lake Presbyterian church from 9 to 12. Annual auditions are held every August to fill the vacant spots. The season runs from the end of August to the first part of March. They perform three concerts a year and each concert features a variety of music, from classical, to sacred, to pop, always accompanied by different guest musicians. They are conducted by Dr. John T. Lowe Jr, Director of Music and Organist at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Gainesville, and accompanied by Sean Pollock, Director of Worship at New Covenant United Methodist Church. The Village Voices Chorus is a non profit charitable organization, supporting music education. Any contributions are tax deductable.
