Dade Battlefield Historic State Park
The Dade Battlefield Historic State Park commemorates this battle and honors the participants on both sides. In addition to tours of the battlefield itself, the park features a hiking trail with abundant wildlife; a visitor’s center with clean restrooms; a pavilion and lodge perfect for wedding receptions and family reunions; geo-seeking and much more. Also, every January features a reenactment of the battle, which is historically accurate and exquisitely detailed.
Green Swamp Wildlife Management Area (WMA)
More than 20 miles of the Florida Trail, 13.1 miles of which are part of the Florida National Scenic Trail, traverse the area. Over 20 miles of unpaved service roads are marked for bicycling.
Half Moon Wildlife Management Area (WMA)
Excellent opportunities exist for a variety of recreational activities, including horseback riding, wildlife viewing, biking, hiking, fishing, and hunting. Half Moon’s array of wetlands contributes significantly to floral, faunal, and habitat diversity.
Jumper Creek WMA
Recreational opportunities include hunting, fishing, wildlife viewing, primitive camping, biking, and hiking on two loop trails.
Kenny Dixon Sports Complex
The Kenny Dixon Sports Complex is comprised of 30 acres of land dedicated to a variety of sporting and recreational activities.

Lake Panasoffkee
This 4,460-acre lake and Fish Management Area is unusual; a true spring-fed lake, water depths seldom exceed four feet. I-75 runs along the eastern edge and C.R. 470 along the southern and western shore. A public ramp is available on the Outlet River, west of the lake on C.R. 470.
Lake Panasoffkee Wildlife Management Area
Lake Panasoffkee WMA lies along the eastern shore of Lake Panasoffkee, in north central Sumter County. This nearly 9,000-acre area was acquired between 1990 and 1997 to preserve the lake and its associated floodplain forests. Four spring-fed creeks enter the lake.
Richloam Wildlife Management Area
Richloam WMA is one of seven large tracts of land that make up the Withlacoochee State Forest. The Richloam Tract, consisting of more than 58,000 acres.
