Butterflies are on the move including one of our favorite butterflies, the monarch. Join volunteer Elaine Berner who has spent over 45 years of her life studying and supporting the monarch butterfly for a power point program on monarchs and a walk on the grounds to look for butterflies and monarch friendly plants. Cost is $3/vehicle or Florida Annual State Parks Pass.
Join us for our 4th Annual Sumter Fall Festival, located at the Wildwood Community Center.
We will celebrate our great county with a day full of fun for the whole family.
The Festival will be held on Saturday, November 6th from 10 AM – 3 PM. The Festival will feature Entertainment, Great Food, Children’s Activities, Pumpkin Fun, The Sumter County Queens, Local Businesses’ Displays & Promotions, and Local Crafters and Artist.
Farm City Week will be celebrated this year from November 17 through November 24. The event has been held around the country since the 1950s to celebrate and promote agriculture. It is a week to express appreciation of the beneficial partnerships between growers and consumers.
This year, Sumter County Economic Development, UF-IFAS extension and other community partners will offer an in-person event at Whispering Oaks Winery on November 12 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. The event will be held outside and includes educational presentations, lunch, and a tour of the winery.
