Commemorating the 189th Anniversary of Dade’s Battle of 1835, the beginning of the Second Seminole War. Reenactment includes period Seminole and soldier camps, period vendor trade fair, historic arts and crafts demonstrations and full-scale cannon firing plus 19th Century games and activities for children. Get WILD with your students at Dade Battlefield Historic State Park each month in an immersive educational experience utilizing both indoor and outdoor activities teaching nature’s mysteries in a fun and engaging way! This month we will use curricula from Project Learning Tree curriculum created by the Sustainable Forestry Initiative. Cost is free for this educational event. Fall bird migrants have started to move into Dade Battlefield for their wintering grounds. Bring binoculars or borrow some from the park to see these avian visitors as well as our resident birds.
